Each year IPWEA NSW & ACT call for members to submit a synopsis for a technical paper.
Our Call for Papers program provides IPWEA members the opportunity to:

State Conference
The IPWEA NSW & ACT annual State Conference is one of the largest public works and local government engineering events in the state. The conference hosts over 300 delegates and more than 40 exhibitors, and showcases more than 50 presentations. There are numerous partnership opportunities at our State Conference.

Local Roads Congress
The Roads and Transport Directorate, in collaboration with Local Government NSW, holds an annual Local Roads Congress, where local council mayors, councillors and executives gather to discuss road-related policy issues. The purpose of the Congress is to address policy challenges rather than technical issues and to optimise roads and transport outcomes.

Development Engineering Forum
The Development Engineering Forum is NSW’s leading event for streamlining engineering processes within the public works and local government engineering industry. This Forum provides an exceptional platform to shape the future of the ever-growing development engineering industry with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and development.

Maritime & Coastal Infrastructure Forum
The Maritime & Coast Infrastructure Forum stands as the foremost event in NSW devoted to enhancing infrastructure in the maritime and coastal engineering sector. The one-day forum is geared towards professionals engaged in public works and local government engineering, this technical forum provides an extensive array of educational sessions and engaging discussions. It serves as an optimal platform for exchanging experiences, gaining insights from peers, and delving into best practices that contribute to the progress of coastal communities in NSW.

Chapter Meetings
Chapter Meetings are crucial events for public works engineers to exchange knowledge and address challenges and opportunities within their regions. These informal gatherings, held twice a year in each chapter, cover topics like infrastructure projects, technological advancements, and best practices in environmental management, construction, water and sewerage, road maintenance, road safety, disaster recovery, and urban heat islands.
