MANAGE A LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROJECT
This two day course is designed to introduce fundamental project management principles and techniques.
The course is appropriate for those who are interested in the successful planning, implementation and evaluation of project work.
Participants are encouraged to bring along their own laptop or tablet to enhance their learning experience.
Upon completion of this course it is expected that participants should be able to:
• Understand and implement the principles of project management
• Define what a project is
• Develop a comprehensive project plan
• Determine resource requirements
• Determine and manage risk
• Consult and communicate with project stakeholders
• Manage scope creep and implement contingencies
• Evaluate the project
Presenter Details - Ann Morris
Ann holds a Master of Education and Diploma of Project Management and has over thirty years’ experience in delivering training to government and corporate organisations. She specialises in leadership, change and project management and has also delivered programs in policy and procedure writing, tender writing and change management to local government across NSW. Ann has managed projects in events, community economic development, asset management and environmental sustainability.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT
Participants who successfully undertake assessment associated with this course will receive a statement of attainment for the following unit of competency:
BSBPMG522 Undertake project work
Those working in local government contexts can receive:
LGACOMP025 Manage a local government project.
These units of competency can be used as a building block towards Certificate IV and Diploma level qualifications in local government or civil construction supervision.

ACCOMMODATION: Overnight accommodation is not provided for Delegates. You will need to organize your own accommodation if required.

Cancellations made by the registrant not less than 5 working days from commencement of the workshop/course will be able to transfer to the next available workshop/course or send a substitute.
A substitute delegate is allowable with written notification to firstname.lastname@example.org, no less than 3 working days prior to the workshop.
Cancellation or non-attendance by the registrant at an alternative workshop/course will see the full course fee applied with no refund.
Cancellations by the registrant made under 5 working days from the workshop/course commencement date or non-attendance on the day will see the full course rate applied with no refund.
If IPWEA NSW cancels a course for any reason 5 working days’ notice will be provided by phone or email.
Registrants will be able to transfer to another course or receive a full refund.
IPWEA NSW will not be liable for any associated costs to the registrant or their organisation that may arise from the cancellation of any training event. This includes travel costs and accommodation.
