This training focuses on the practice and application of asset inspection and defect identification principles.

The training emphasises these principles while highlighting the importance of a safe system approach. The training covers defect types and intervention standards, risk management, and defect priority scoring system. A copy of the Road Inspection Manual can be found here.

The goal of this training is to help participants identify and report road defects. The training is intended to give them the opportunity to practice defect recognition and prioritisation while emphasising a safe operating approach.

Learning Objectives 

  • Participants will be able to recognise the condition of road pavements.
  • Participants will be able to determine risk factors in the road safety network.
  • Participants will be able to identify and describe road defects from a visual examination.

Training will be conducted using two learning modules, two case studies and two assessments. Please see the table below outlining the agenda.

This session will be a pilot of the Conduct Road Inspection Workshop. This workshop is priced at a reduced rate of $345pp +GST as attendees will be required to provide feedback via survey once the course has been completed.
